I’m Brigette, and I’m from Pittsburgh. I am in the January class, and already got my first property under contract. I’m converting rentals that I’ve had into short-term rentals. I am really excited because with my day job as a designer, I feel like I’m using it even more now. I’m making my own Facebook ads and videos, and I’m really using my talents in interior design.
This program has just given me such a new life and sense of freedom. I have this courage and strength in my abilities, and a faith in myself that I’ve never had before in my life. Well, I just finished assigning a scholarship to three high school students to do a community mural for money that I raised for my community. That’s a really big personal win for me, because I’m an artist and a designer by trade.
One thing that’s kind of in-between personal and business would be my relationship with my husband. My husband is a financial advisor and he started his own business last year, last January. Now, we’ve always been a great couple, but it’s been hard the last few years. We have two small kids, and we both work a lot.
I just wasn’t happy within my job, and I just kept pushing through and pushing through, and I lost my faith. I lost my smile. I just didn’t feel like I had anything to look forward to anymore. And I prayed to God that there would be something, some sort of sign, because I knew that I was happy before, I knew I loved my family and my kids.
I joined this group, and I believe it’s changed my life. I don’t know where I would be if I had not found everyone here, but I’m just so thankful that I did. I prayed so hard on this and I felt so lost. And, now, my faith has come back, and my love with my husband has come back and joy in my family and kids came back as well.
And, you know, I was a college professor. I had four months off a year. Everybody told me I had the greatest job in the world, and I was living on Easy Street. It could not have been further from the truth. I feel like now, even while working eight, ten, or 12 hours a day, I’m not working at all because I love what I’m doing so much.
